Albania records record in meat imports/Brazil tops the list

Albania sets a record in meat imports for 2024, as it is estimated that up to 84 million euros have been spent to obtain this product from abroad, especially from countries such as Brazil, Greece, the United States of America and Italy.

The import of meat from abroad is not only related to the fact that it is consumed excessively by Albanians, but also because the number of livestock in the country has been declining.

This was also influenced by the departure of many Albanians outside the country's borders, thus significantly reducing the number of people involved in livestock farming. /CNA
