The outbreak of sheep plague in Shkodra has led the National Food Authority to exercise controls at all meat trading points.

The regional director of the National Food Agency, Ramir Haderi, states that from these controls, a quantity of 124 kg of meat was confiscated in four different entities, while a total of 30 entities have been controlled so far.

" With the outbreak of plague in Shkodra, we have taken measures to exercise controls on meat trading entities. In 4 entities, we have found problems with meat and the necessary measures have been taken, up to the blocking of activity for these 4 entities. A quantity of 124 kg of meat has been blocked and all necessary measures have been taken for these cases. In Shkodra, 30 entities for trading, processing and selling meat have been controlled so far, and in the meantime, our work will continue at border points and main axes where there is animal trading ," said Haderi.

The head of the AKU in Shkodra, Haderi, says that the goal is to stop the further spread of sheep plague in cooperation with other institutions, while indicating that criminal proceedings have been initiated against the 4 specific subjects found to be in abuse.

" We are also coordinating with other institutions to stop the spread of the plague. We are working intensively 24 hours a day so that we do not have problems. The call for awareness among farmers is to respect the rules and trade in meat with a certificate from the official veterinarian and to avoid cases of abuse because there will be seizure and destruction. In cooperation with the state police, we will take them to criminal proceedings. For specific cases, criminal proceedings have been initiated for consumer fraud. The situation is manageable because we are working 24 hours a day both at border points and on the main axes and we are exercising controls on all entities that sell meat to consumers. On our part, there has been no tolerance and we also call on consumers to report any case for any indication they may have ," said the director of AKU Shkodra.
