The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the increase in the number of patients affected by tumor diseases.

In Albania, 6 thousand new cases1 of tumor diseases are identified every year.

The most frequently diagnosed tumor diseases in our country are breast cancer, respiratory tract cancer, gastrointestinal tract cancer, skin cancer, etc. These categories of tumor diseases together account for almost 40% of all new cases reported annually by the health system.

Tumor disease is an individual diagnosis that has significant impacts on patients, but also severely affects the lives of their families.

These diseases remain the second most frequent cause of fatalities, causing about 16% of deaths each year./ CNA
