In 6 months, 1 in 9 women examined in Shkodër turns out to have cancer

One of the 9 people who appear at the regional hospital of Shkodra to perform examinations for breast cancer turns out to be affected by the latter.

Such a figure is announced by the local health care unit in Shkodër, while emphasis continues to be placed on the problem of the small number of people who appear to perform examinations.

“Gjatë 6 mujorit të parë të vitit janë kryer rreth 723 mamografi ku 79 kanë rezultuar pozitive. Është një shifër relativisht e madhe. Është një shifër që na bën të reflektojmë më tepër dhe është një thirrje akoma më shumë për gratë që të mos e hezitojnë dhe të mos e vonojnë këtë ekzaminim”, u shpreh Suida Kuka, drejtuese e Njësisë Vendore e Kujdesit Shëndetësor.

Mjekët onkologë tregojnë se sa më shumë shtohen rastet e ekzaminimeve, aq më shumë shtohen rastet pozitive, veçanërisht tek mosha e mesme.

“Ajo që vëmë re fatkeqësisht është që ka një trend rritjeje të numrit të rasteve të diagnostikuara me kancer gjiri dhe për më tepër fatkeqësisht janë moshat e reja nga 45-50 vjeç që po i evidentojmë si të prekur nga kanceri i gjirit”, thotë Kleva Qeraj.
