"Maliqi confesses the cultural heritage"
EXHIBITION

This is the name of the exhibition organized for the first time in the city of Maliqi, an organization initiated by Brizida Gjikondi, part of the Tamara Center, supported by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation together with the municipality of Maliqi. Today, this exhibition has brought to attention the many archaeological values ??that the area of ??Maliqi has, although with a small area, but with many more archaeological objects and sites compared to other places in our country. Dozens of facts, photographs, data have been exhibited in the square of Rozafa City in this city, while many participants have come to see the archaeological side of the city and the villages that this city contains.

The organizer Brizida Gjikondi, in an interview for CNA TV, has shown how the idea of ??undertaking this initiative was born, to highlight and promote the values ??of its origin. She says that her mother is from Maliqi, while she has a close spiritual connection with this country. The lack of promotion of the historical and cultural values ??that the area has, led to realize this exhibition to acquaint the residents of Maliq as well as local and foreign visitors with this priceless heritage.

"I have a mother from Maliqi and I have great spiritual ties with this country, I share my life between Maliqi and Tirana, but I share it more with Maliqi, I don't go to Tirana for pleasure. I think that Maliqi has missed the promotion of historical values ??and cultural that it has, I have not done it any favors, I have simply given it the hack. It is one of the countries that has archeological objects and sites of the first category, much more than the other countries that have a larger area than Maliqi for the stilts that are known throughout history, but also the castle of Kakacc, the castle of Symiz, the Shadow of the Raven, Zvezda, and Pogdoria, which all come as a ring around Maliq, which also shows the wisdom of the early generations. This must definitely be promoted and this was the initiative and idea of ??the Tamara Center that was also supported by the ministry to realize this exhibition, to make it known not only to foreigners but also to Albanians."

It was not at all difficult for Brizida to collect and organize all the historical data of Maliq's legacy. Its main goal remains the promotion of these values ??and keeping this history alive, more specifically by the residents of this city.

"When you do something with soul, it is not difficult because when you do something with passion and you are driven by love and not interest, nothing is tiring and impossible. I really want to harass the residents of Maliqi, so that they know what people make their daily lives and cannot separate the continuity of values. This is my goal to be proud and invest in real. The world does not have and invent these things, we have them and do not promote them."

For the archaeologist, Florenc Cenolli, the first archaeological elements came to light in 1961 with the drying up of the Maliqi marsh. He gives more details about this whole archaeological phase belonging to different historical periods.

"In the 1961s, with the drying up of the Maliqi swamp, the first archaeological elements emerged in which the archaeological phases were undertaken. These phases were almost 10 years old, in a very interesting area and reaching 4000 square meters, where they emerged with thousands of piles. From the archeological point of view, we have the values ??of the Eneolithic period and the Iron period, so it is the most interesting in the Maliqi region published in Albanian and English, it was published by the late Frano Prendi, but also by his successor, the honored professor and member of the Academy of Sciences, Adem Bunguri, who also dealt with Maliq's residence in later times."

For the mayor of Maliqi, archeology is the culminating point of this city, which carries endless materials but has not received the proper weight. Gëzim Topcciu emphasizes that the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, together with the Institute of Archaeology, should be the basis for doing something that will stand the test of time, and also, the municipality will be a co-financer of this project.

"Actually, archeology is the culminating point of Maliqi, even though it was delayed in time by us, by the central institutions. Not that it was not worked on, not that there are no materials, but in the end it did not receive the proper weight of what Maliqi represents that from the natural and cultural monuments. There are about 16 first-class monuments, 3 natural monuments and parks in the entire territory. And after all, an early history that must be promoted by us I believe that the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, the Institute of Archeology should be the basis for doing something that will stand the test of time, and we will be co-financiers of this very important project."

This exhibition will be open for three consecutive days, in the morning and in the afternoon to welcome history, culture and archeology enthusiasts. A very meaningful and important initiative that is expected to continue in other projects, not only for Maliq but also for other areas that have numerous archaeological values. The region of Maliqi is one of the most important in this field, where forts, mounds, ancient bridges, chance finds, all of which together constitute a very important component in the field of archaeological heritage, remain of great potential./CNA
