Digital Arts Gallery, reviving art in a modern and innovative space

Korça is the city known for art, tradition, but also for its cultural and historical heritage, fanatically preserved over the years. What can be called an innovation achievement for this city is precisely GAD, the Digital Arts Gallery. A project that took several years to materialize, has already become a reality in 4 months. A digital gallery that brings back to life the works of many artists, Albanian and foreign, with a modern style and an innovative technology, which is visible from the moment you enter the hall.

The project is among the most special that has been built for a gallery, which was built for the first time in the southeast, as it brings another form of art that we rarely find in Albania. The director of GAD, Arbri Malile, in an interview for CNA TV, tells how the idea was born to bring something different to Korça, which will be of value not only to the city favored by many visitors, but also to the whole of Albania.

"More than the birth of an idea, it was the fulfillment of a need to bring such a contemporary, modern, innovative and technological art space and much more to Albania. Thanks to the cooperation and the very supportive climate of Korça and the municipality, we realized this project that has already been implemented for 4 months and has a full activity in the framework of artistic events. Not only in immersive digital exhibitions, but also in dinner events such as 'Dutch Poetry' or 'Paola Kondakçi's Piano Concert'."

The team created to design this work of art, if we can call it that, was composed of more than 7 specialists from different fields, including art, creative industry, marketing and more. A work of more than 2 years, including European and American experiences, has been finalized by opening the shutter of more other digital galleries in our country.

"Actually, in order to implement this project, a team of more than 7 specialists from different fields, mainly in the field of art and creative industry, but also communication, marketing and other specialists, has been built. Obviously, it has been worked on for more than 2 years. Foreign experiences were taken, mainly European, but also more widely, American. Modules were taken and implemented in the best way in this gallery, which for us is the first gallery and opens the door to a larger network of digital galleries in Albania."

Not only the citizens of Korça, but also local and foreign tourists, will have the opportunity to see various exhibitions, with exceptional value. Arbri has shown the first exhibition that they have realized, with works of Albanian iconographers who resumed their activity from the Middle Ages until today.

"First, the main activity is the immersive exhibitions. The first exhibition that we closed last month was 'Albanian iconography', a very special exhibition with extraordinary values. All the great masters, iconographers and Albanian artists brought back and revived all their activity from the Middle Ages to the present day. An exhibition that had values ??of our cultural and artistic heritage, but also an exhibition that has absorbed many foreign tourists."

There were many visitors to the second exhibition, that of Van Gogh, a very fruitful collaboration with the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and the Dutch embassy.

"The second exhibition is Van Gogh, in collaboration with the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and the Dutch embassy, ??for the first time we re-brought his works in digital form and in a very beautiful experience here in Korça. An exhibition that has absorbed many viewers from Tirana, from almost all of Albania, from neighboring countries such as Macedonia, Greece and Kosovo."

While we ask him about the visitors' impressions of what they saw and enjoyed near the Digital Arts Gallery, Arbri singles out one of the most emotional moments of the two girls, who left the hall with tears in their eyes. This is a clear indication that this gallery has brought a new spirit to the city, a spirit that has been lacking in modern art.

"In memory, I would say it was somewhere on the second day of the opening of the exhibition. Two girls come out crying. I thought there was something that had gone wrong inside the gallery, some problem or incident. After talking with them, it was all emotion, which gave us the positive feeling that we have done something very good."

For the manager of this gallery, the next exhibition will be the "Italian Renaissance", but he decided not to give more details so that the viewers also have curiosity and come to the gallery to experience special emotions.
