German Ambassador to Albania Karl Bergner visited the city of Pogradec today. His visit started at 10:30 in the Buçimas Administrative Unit, with the aim of distributing aid from various German associations to the residents.

A few days ago, Cna TV announced through a report, the activity that will take place this afternoon in the lake city, where German motorcyclists will also participate. These bikers have cooperated in providing aid in Buçimas together with the staff of the German embassy.

After the distribution of aid, the German ambassador visited the municipality of Pogradec where he was welcomed by the vice-mayor Entela Gusho, while in a statement to the media he emphasized the inter-city cooperation and partnership between the Municipality of Pogradec and a northern German city.

"I greet you all, I am very happy to be in Pogradec today. Pogradec is actually the only city in Albania which has an inter-city municipal partnership with a city in the north of Germany. Here in Pogradec is another characteristic feature of cooperation between civil society, a cooperation at the humanitarian level through organizations such as various foundations and Light of Hope.

In addition to this cooperation at the level of civil society with the city of Pogradec, we also have a development cooperation that is being organized through government structures, such as the cooperation with the Water and Sewer sector, the development of the tourism sector, since we are right here in the background with the wonderful lake of Pogradec . Of course, for the development of tourism, the aspect of its sustainability is very important, the preservation of nature, the preservation of the environment is a very important asset of this region.

Another important aspect of tourism development is cooperation with regional countries, in the case of Pogradec with North Macedonia, through the development of tourism in Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa.

A heartfelt thank you from my side also goes to the administration of the municipality of Pogradec and the deputy mayor who welcomed us today. I must also emphasize that it is a really great pleasure to go out and see other cities like Pogradec, because we know that Albania is much more than just Tirana", said the ambassador.

The development of tourism is one of the most important aspects of this cooperation, an aspect that Ambassador Bergner has given a lot of focus where, among other things, he thanked the municipality and emphasized the fact that Albania is not only Tirana.
