Albania is one of the perfect destinations for mountain or coastal and cultural tourism.

Albania has a coastline of 450 km that wets the western coast of Albania, stretching along the Adriatic and Ionian seas.

Rich in many natural beauties, with shallow sandy beaches in the north and rocky and deep beaches in its southern part.

Those who wish to explore the Adriatic coast have their choice between the popular beaches of Velipoja, Shengjin, Durrës, Golem, Spille and Divjaka.

In addition to the beaches, visitors who are passionate bird watchers or interested in eco-tourism can explore the Adriatic coast's rich lagoons and other natural ecosystems.

It is located 22 km from the city of Shkodra. The area sees about 250 sunny days a year and by mid-May temperatures normally rise above 20°C.

The beach of Velipoja is also curative as its 4 km of sand is of high quality, turning it into a suitable resort for families with children.

To the south of the coast of Velipoja lies the beach of Shengjin, another sandy beach, located fifteen minutes by car from the historic city of Lezha. With its fine sand and around 200-300 sunny days a year, Shengjin beach is another local favorite. In the north of Shengjin, protected from the winds of the area by a crown of hills, visitors can discover the wonderful beach of Rana i Hedhun (Powder sand).

Rana e Hedhun as a beach is formed by the action of the wind on the sand near the slope of the rocky mountain forming sand dunes, which are up to about 50 meters high, up to 600 meters long and about 100 meters deep on the seashore.

An area of ??six hectares around the dune was declared a natural monument in 2002.

In the summer, vacationers like to visit and climb the rana dune, which can only be traversed on foot./ CNA
