"The solution is not on the table"/ Krasniqi: The opposition candidate

Political scientist Afrim Krasniqi commented on the possible opposition candidate in the race for Tirana Mayor.

Invited to a show on A2CNN, Krasniqi said that in the current situation, it is difficult to convince an individual to support a race that is technically lost.

Krasniqi said that the best solution for the opposition is not on the table.

Krasniqi added that in this race, the opposition needs to step outside of itself and find a convincing figure for gray voters.

 "The opposition has discussed such names years ago, but it is very difficult to convince an individual to enter with these credentials in a race that is technically lost before it even starts. If it then seeks to eliminate problems within the party and to preserve the maximum number of party members, it enters each of the party members and will only receive the votes of the party or its allies. I do not think that the solution comes from a table, but from the need of the opposition to get out of itself. The opposition is forced to get out of itself and has political interest. In Tirana, there are also 100 thousand voters who did not vote for the Democratic Party and the DP coalition and who are not SP voters. This category deserves respect and an offer", said Krasniqi./CNA
