Gentian Bejtje's Murder/ Tirana Court Sentences Ilir Beqaraj to 24 Years in

The Tirana Court has sentenced Ilir Beqarajn, who is accused of the murder of Gentjan Bejtje, to 24 years in prison. He was executed in the courtyard of his apartment in the village of Larushke in Fushë-Krujë on March 15, 2024. 

Meanwhile, Beqaraj, who was arrested a few days after the incident, is accused of helping the perpetrators of Gentjan Bejtje's murder flee the scene.

We recall that this was not the first time that Bejtja was attacked, as there had been previous attempts to eliminate the former prison police officer. In January 2022, he was shot with a gun along with citizen Klodian Stafuka.

They were shot while driving near the school in the village of Larushk in the Fushë-Krujë area, while Bejtja was wounded in the arm.

In September 2016, a TNT attack was organized against him. Bejtja was the person who, together with Enver Stafuka, stole the car used in the murder of Chief Commissioner Dritan Lamaj in 2013. /CNA
