"Rama's absolute power should be limited"/ Former minister gives

Former Minister Arben Malaj said today that limiting the absolute power that Prime Minister Edi Rama gains through the majority in the Assembly is one of the solutions for changes in the government and within the Socialist Party.

While speaking on the "Now" show, Malaj said that this could be achieved through the union of 10 to 12 MPs, who could create a small grouping.

According to Malaj, this is about reactions against qualified majority decisions that have heavy political and economic costs for the country.

"We are also in contact with internationals and the idea is not for us to be incited against the SP. They should see if there is a positive synergy within the SP. They should limit Rama's absolute power. There should be more than 10-12 MPs. Not like that, but to hinder him with the decisions he makes with a qualified majority. There are decisions that will have heavy costs for both politics and the economy. Initially, limit his absolute power to make decisions that create major penalties," Malaj said./CNA
