Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech on the podcast 'Flasim', also focused on the situation that has been ongoing for days on the Librazhd-Prrenjas road axis.

According to Rama, the problem lies in the difficult geology of the mountainous terrain, as clay formations and unstable slopes have been significantly affected.

The Prime Minister stated that engineering teams are on the ground to put an end to the problem once and for all.

"I want to stop here once again to address the extraordinary noise of homemade bombs that exploded in all 700 political-media pots of Albania, related to a natural disaster or as it is called in infrastructure contracts, an intervention of a force majeure that has nothing to do with man, but with nature, on the Corridor 8 axis, on the Corridor 8 construction site, where one of the most meaningful works of Albania in the years after the fall of the regime is being built, and this noise, this madness, which persistently conveyed to the ears of Albanians, the message that that slide of several hundred meters on an axis of many kilometers was the result of corruption, is nothing other than part of a whole chain of hysteria, which is coming around the feet of Albania, precisely at the time when Albania is carrying out its most historic mission to finally reach the peak where Albanians deserve to live, where the common home of the Union is. European.

 And precisely when Albania is fighting corruption harder than ever and these are facts, here it is said that corruption is greater than ever. This is as true as the connection between corruption and that landslide. Zero, zero! There is difficult geology there and the landslide has affected, not the new axis, anything related to the construction site and all the works that have been done with the construction site along the Elbasan-Qafë-Thanë road segment, but the old road, in a place where the mountainous terrain, clay formations and unstable slopes have been significantly affected, as has happened in many places, starting from neighboring Greece due to the very intense and persistent rainfall this winter.

The Albanian Road Authority immediately intervened with adequate emergency measures.

The State Police has made every effort to ensure a 24-hour presence on all days since the blockage occurred, to guarantee safety. The intensive work to open alternative routes has not stopped for a minute, as has the work to geotechnically stabilize the terrain. In parallel, engineering teams are on the ground to go beyond superficial repairs, which are not sufficient because in-depth stabilization must be guaranteed to put an end to the problem that has appeared there once and for all and to do so in a sustainable manner, and therefore, in parallel with the management of the current situation, the development of this new strategic infrastructure is being accelerated.
