Albania is equipped with the "Javelin" anti-tank missile system

Albania has been officially equipped with the "Javelin" anti-tank missile system, one of the most advanced defense systems used by NATO member countries.

Through an announcement, the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, announced that the arrival of this system is the result of close cooperation with the strategic ally, the United States of America.

 "The arrival of the Javelin systems, thanks to cooperation with our strategic ally the USA, strengthens the defense capabilities of the Albanian Armed Forces, increases deterrence, interoperability with NATO and national security", said the Minister of Defense.

The "Javelin" system is considered a key element for land defense, significantly increasing the ability of the Land Force to confront advanced threats and operate in accordance with Alliance standards.

"Javelin" is a latest generation anti-tank missile system, produced by the US, a very effective system against armored vehicles and widely used by NATO armies as well as in real combat operations.

Albania has ordered the "Javelin" system within the framework of military cooperation programs with the United States, through the mechanisms of foreign military sales (Foreign Military Sales-FMS). /CNA
