"Albania will enter the phase of economic transformation"/ Dhuka: We

Minister of State and Chief Negotiator Majlinda Dhuka, present at the Stabilization and Association Committee meeting being held in Tirana, stated that Albania's relations with the European Union are at their most advanced stage, both politically, diplomatically and in terms of integration. Dhuka said that Albania will soon enter the phase of economic transformation.

Dhuka expressed optimism and stated that at the meeting of this Committee in 4 years, the elections that Albania will hold for the European Parliament will be discussed.

" I am here to receive your political orientations on the path towards the EU and the EP.

I would like to start with an appreciation for the support of the Albanian Parliament and the EP of all political forces even in cases where opinions converge or differ. I would like to dwell on the issue to emphasize the relations between the EU and Albania which are at the most advanced stage from a political, diplomatic, economic or integration point of view.

Albania has served as a hotbed of European political ideas and with the NATO summit in 2027, it aims to be a hotbed of Euro-Atlantic ideas.

Albania and the Western Balkans aim to become a European Union investment frontier.

I want to look ahead, at the meeting of this committee in 2 years, the two parliaments will talk about Albania's integration treaty to create a higher level of acceptance.

On one side is the support of Albanian citizens with 91% and European citizens with over 50% for enlargement. Also, looking ahead again in 4 years, the elections that Albania will hold for the European Parliament will be discussed. As for the integration process, the first phase is concluding and we will enter the most important phase where the great economic transformation begins in a large number of areas. Albania has opened a great spiritual debate with the approximation of European values, but united with national values", declared Dhuka./ CNA
