Rama stings the Judges' Association: It is not your place to use labels

Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the Judges' Association in a direct link. Rama urged them to stop the rhetorical battle and stop using labels like the old and degraded parties of Albania.

He emphasized that judges in Albania have higher salaries than their colleagues in the region.

"It is not intended to incite controversy over a decision-making and process that will take place in the courtroom. How do you get to the point of publicly attacking the government, the head of the Council of Ministers, the media, accusing everyone of hysteria. Who are you? I am very agitated that the 37 million euros you are asking for is money that should be taken from someone else.

You take it upon yourself to talk about abuses while you should ensure independence and impartiality. You seek to increase your own salaries through litigation. You are creating populist frenzy.

The salaries of judges are higher than those of the president, ministers, deputies, etc. How is it possible that your salary is higher than the salaries of the Supreme Court?

I suggest you leave the rhetorical battle behind, because it is not up to the judges to use labels that go to the oldest and most degraded parties in Albania from a judicial body that is supported by the government, since you have never had this independence.

"This is our will. Those salaries that you have today that are higher than your colleagues in the region," said Rama./ CNA
