In the plenary session, discussions are taking place on the draft law "On some additions and amendments to law no. 8874, dated 29.3.2002, "On the control of substances used for the illegal manufacture of narcotic and psychotropic substances"".

DP MP Luan Baçi said that this draft law is an important issue for our society and should be discussed responsibly. But, according to him, like many draft laws, this draft law will pass without any constructive debate.

Baçi stressed that even though Albania is strengthening the legal basis against the production and trafficking of narcotics, it is still at the top of the list of European countries on this issue.

"This draft law that we have before us also represents a very important issue for our society that should be discussed and debated with great responsibility. But this would happen if we were truly a country with a normal government and a sovereign Parliament that emerges from free elections. Although Albania is strengthening the legal basis against the production and trafficking of narcotics, our country is still at the top of the list of European countries on this issue. It is enough to refer to some SPAK reports for the year 2025.

From two actions in cooperation with Interpol, 130 kg of cocaine and heroin were seized, with a market value of over 12 million euros. From the raid on another criminal network, 6 tons were seized. But in this session, even the voting of this draft law turns into an ordinary voting bureaucracy, without any constructive debate. This is because it is clear that the Parliament functions as a notary under the orders of the Prime Minister. This Parliament is going through the most absurd time, where no law is being voted that serves the interest of citizens , "said Baçi. /CNA
