The Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, declared today in the Assembly that the justice system cannot be protected through the politicization of prison institutions, emphasizing the principle of equality before the law and the lack of privileges.
During his speech, Lamallari underlined that separating political debate from institutional functioning is more important than ever. According to him, any allegation of human rights violations should be treated seriously and based on facts, and not in function of political interests or goals.
"The system is not protected by politicizing prisons. Equality before the law, without privileges. Today more than ever it is important to separate the political debate from the institutional truth.
