DP leader Sali Berisha, during a conversation with his followers, commented on the reason why he decided to give up his irrevocable resignation and return to the leadership of the DP.

Berisha emphasized that the former leader of this party, Lulzim Basha, was controlled through two files: Toyota Yaris and Nick Muzin.

The Democratic leader highlighted that for the second file, with Nick Muzin, he had also engaged McGonigal while being controlled with money and favors that he gave to his businesses.

"If I decided to set aside my resignation without revocation, it was because I realized that the former leader of this party was totally controlled by Edi Rama, in two ways.

He was controlled with two files. With the "Toyota Yaris" file and the file of Biniata and Nick Muzin. For the second file, with Nick Muzin, he had also engaged McGonigal while he was controlled with money. He was controlled with favors that he did to his businesses. In these conditions, I decided to return. He was also controlled by others without question. I could never accept that a sovereign, national party was a fake opposition. I could never accept that this party was a puppet and a facade of Edi Rama.

In April 2021, the DP's chief advisor for the elections, Asaf Sharif, whom I had met many times, came to my office for advice and asked me if the DP doesn't win the elections, what do you think about a coalition with the SP?

I told him that this is absolutely unacceptable to me and very harmful to the country. I told him that if it happens, I will oppose it with all my might. I did not return because the sanctions were imposed, they are fighting for the sanctions and I would have been more comfortable without returning. I returned because I saw that the DP had put it under control.

That gentleman does not even represent 0.0002% of the Democrats. You have indeed seen the halls but I guarantee that they are filled with businesses on orders from the government, the prison director and the gangs of the cities, Elbasan, Durrës etc.
