"Digital Identity" Initiative/ Rama: Ready in 2026, convenience for

Prime Minister Edi Rama was present today at the Tirana Pyramid to present a new initiative called "Digital Identity".  

In his speech, Rama described it as a significant step for Albania on its path towards technological modernization, which will provide convenience for the citizens, the state, and the country's economy.

Rama said that this objective is expected to be achieved within 2026, as it is also in line with the similar goal set by the European Union.

"For some time now, we have been committed with great desire, but also with ambition, to creating digital identity. It is the basis of another great breakthrough and a projection into the future thanks to technology. To my knowledge, the relationship between citizens and the state, as well as our economy, will be available to the public next year. It is also a declared objective of the EU until 2027. We will be 1 year ahead and I emphasize this not to imply or affirm any advantage, but to remind you once again that the advantage that technology gives to every country that embraces it and that turns to it to overcome and overcome even historical obstacles, I call it a blessing of this time. Through this technology, countries can imagine overcoming eras that would be impossible with the speed of linear progress that precedes the era of technology. That is why we believe in the technology of innovation", said Rama./CNA
