The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has issued a statement to the media, following the meeting of the Conference of Speakers.

Bardhi stated that the DP parliamentary group has filed a motion for debate on the lack of a special law for determining the subsistence minimum. Meanwhile, he continued with the claims that the DP is being denied its right to speak in plenary sessions.

"The DP parliamentary group has filed a motion with debate on the lack of a special law for determining the living wage. During these days, the 2026 draft budget has arrived and three days ago also the Fiscal Package, or the financial laws that accompany the approval of the draft budget.  This draft budget violates the constitutional rights of citizens to determine the living wage by law. According to analyses and recommendations from the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the IMF and two studies by the Ombudsman, determining the living wage is a continuous request for the Albanian government, but so far a legal and institutional approach has been lacking. In 2 months, 5 motions with debate have been rejected by our parliamentary group", said Bardhi. /CNA
