First candidacy for the Municipality of Vlora / Dionis Sota publishes the

Dionis Sota is the first candidate to announce his candidacy for the November 9 elections in Vlora.

A tourism operator by profession, Sota presented his platform as an independent candidate through a status on social media.

In his program, Sota writes that he focuses on a European Vlora based on 5 pillars: total transparency in the budget, new social neighborhoods and infrastructure for the city's neighborhoods, start-ups for young people, clean beaches.

 

"Heartfelt call for our beloved Vlora!

Dear friends and comrades, fellow travelers, residents of Vlora, Orikum, Vlora Center, Novosela and Shushica!

 

I, Dionis Sota, born in 1980, son of this special city full of history that unites us all, as president of the ARTA (Aulona Regional Tourism Association) Tourist Association and early activist for our vital issues, today declare my independent candidacy for Mayor in the by-elections of November 9, 2025.

 

This is not just a candidacy, it is a sincere call based on electoral equality, as guaranteed to us by our sacred Constitution! Every citizen has the right to stand up and say: “I will fight for my home, for my family, for my city!” And I am doing this as a precedent for everyone afterwards without any distinction.

 

My Vision is: A European Vlora for All!

 

Imagine a clean, democratic and vibrant Vlora, where your concerns are truly heard! Where the institution of the municipality is preserved as our national flag, sacred and inviolable. Coincidentally, these elections coincide precisely with the month of the flag, our holiday of the heart!

 

I am running with full confidence for a city where every resident, from the center of Vlora to the villages of Orikum, Shushica and Novosela, feels valued. A Vlora full of motivation, energy and love without division or hostility! Vlora is and should be the first, and every Vlora is a precious gem!

 

All inspiration comes from our children, our parents, and our dear grandparents!

 

This personal initiative is a challenging sacrifice, born just 48 hours ago from the encouragement of friends and the coincidences of life, from God, the only beacon of my journey!

 

I feel deep longing and weakness for all our society and friends who emigrated and are emigrating, losing hope in this gem of Albania, misused for so many years without any transparency. It is painful…

 

But I want with all my heart to turn Vlora into a repopulated home, for our children to grow up here, for our beloved grandparents far from loneliness! I have known this city for 45 years. I was born, grew up, worked here and continue to work, meeting and getting to know thousands of hardworking, ambitious people, but also full of daily troubles and obstacles. I humbly say that I know the problems of this city and every village around it very well!

 

Urgent Priorities: For Every Administrative Center!

 

I promise equal attention to all our administrative centers: Vlorë, Orikum, Vlorë Center, Novoselë and Shushicë!

 

Points that are concrete, simple and actionable priorities:

 

1. Total Transparency in the Budget!

 

Creation of the “Open Vlora” platform to see every lek of the municipality's budget. Collaboration and co-governance with dynamic and productive professionals. Special project structure to be presented at the centers of European foundations, stimulating cooperation with local NGOs and cities in neighboring countries.

 

2. Infrastructure for Problematic Neighborhoods! Urgent focus on roads, drainage systems and greening neighborhood by neighborhood, starting from the most difficult areas. We will not leave any village behind!

 

3. Beaches and the city with European standards! Cleaning, reforestation, public toilets, on the beaches and in the city, taking the example and experience from countries like Switzerland. International cooperation to turn the coast of Vlora into a year-round tourist attraction based on clean shores, history, archaeology, traditional cuisine and sea and mountain sports and trips.

 

4. Start-up for Youth!

 

Special budget for young people who present development projects from any region and any administrative center!

 

5. New Social Neighborhoods!

 

Urban analysis for new residential areas to build buildings with social park corners at construction cost prices, creating a special fund. This will help families for affordable housing and breathing infrastructure! In this perspective, residential areas will also be divided into several categories such as: suburban residential areas, city center, business areas, residential areas, etc.

 

  Together for Everyone's Vlora!

 

Dear fellow citizens of Vlora, Orikum, Vlora Center, Novosela and Shushica!

 

Today, I invite every opposition political force, every professional, every intellectual, and all businesses to join me for a transparent co-government, full of hope for the future and for visionary youth.

 

Together for an ecologically, socially and economically strong city, where every family, without distinction, feels safe!

 

Everyone who lives here has my full respect and love. Let's make Vlora the home we deserve!
