The Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu, declared today that the 2026 budget will be accompanied by benefits for citizens and employees depending on the institution.

In her speech in the Assembly, Koçiu said that the aim is to install intelligent security cameras in the country's 20 largest cities, as well as at strategic points.

As for the employees, Koçiu said that they will have a salary increase of 100 thousand lek or 20%.

"We have the highest historical budget for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which allows us to raise standards for citizens to a new level. We will strongly support technology, digitalization and automation. We will advance the transformative project of installing intelligent security cameras in the 20 largest cities of the country, as well as in strategic points, main road axes and schools. Beyond the special projects, the 2026 budget also has a lot of good news for citizens and subordinate employees. The number of 24/7 services will increase. There will be a salary increase for police, guard and fire department employees. They will also benefit from a change in seniority. An integral part of the salary is also given as a bonus, no longer a coupon. The salary of police officers will go to 100 thousand lek or 20% more", - said Koçiu. /CNA
