Berisha: Municipalities should be restored in mountainous and hilly areas

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated at the open meeting on Territorial Reform that municipalities should be restored in all hilly and mountainous areas where 1,300 or 1,500 inhabitants live.

He said that services should be quickly restored to hilly and mountainous areas, as according to the leading democrat, they are turning into "dead zones".

"We must return the municipalities to all hilly and mountainous areas where there is a certain number of inhabitants. I cannot say where there are no inhabitants, because it is a long process of repopulation. But all hilly and mountainous areas in which there are 1500 or 1300 inhabitants must be returned.

France has 35 thousand communes. France has mountains, but it is the plain of Europe, it is European agriculture, the greatest agricultural potential of Europe. France has 36 thousand communes and there are communes with 1500 inhabitants. Therefore, we must quickly restore, with priority in hilly and mountainous areas, services, communes as the last call and the last opportunity not to exclude them from the territory of Albania. They are turning into dead zones, at a time when in other countries they constitute an amazing, fabulous asset.
