Democratic Party MP Oerd Bylykbashi, present at the conference "30 years of partnership and progress - Albania, the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission", focused on the May 11 parliamentary elections.

Elections that Bylykbashi said should have been a strong turning point, but led in another direction.

The Democrat said that the May 11 elections were a standard of vote buying and that power was used to give millions of lek just before the elections.

Focusing on the OSCE-ODIHR preliminary report on the May 11 elections, Bylykbashi said that from the beginning, the mission states that the party and the state are one.

 

 

" On May 11, 2025, the parliamentary elections, instead of being a strong turning point, led in a completely different direction. From the beginning of the preliminary report, the OSCE-ODIHR says that the party and the state are one. We have elections today and those of 2025 were a standard of vote buying. State resources today are a gigantic problem. It is the use of power to give millions and millions of lek just before the elections.

"We are facing a series of serious problems that create a spirit of distrust. The diaspora vote is also a huge problem ," said Bylykbashi.
