The staggering wealth of Mero Baze and his children

A famous quote by Indro Montanelli says: "A rich journalist is a journalist who stinks because he has used his profession to achieve other goals."

This is the saying that actually suits Mero Baze the most, who, in addition to enriching himself by being used as a tool of power, has also included his children in his scheme.

For weeks, CNA, through investigations, has brought some of the assets of Mero Baze and his children, which are suspected of having been obtained through the blackmail and assault scheme.

The $10 million hotel

During the month of July, Mero Baze, in one of his posts, advertised his $10 million luxury hotel in Ksmail, located in the name of his son Regon Baze.

The hotel in Ksamil is in the name of Mero Baze's son, Regon Baze with the surname M11930015J. According to the records, this property was registered on July 30, 2021.

The hotel has a private beach, as it itself reports, has dozens of rooms, is a luxury hotel, which is stated to have cost the same as a 100 square meter apartment, exactly where Mero Baze bought it, in the center of Blloku, after attacking the builder.

Apartment at Brigade VIII

In April 2015, Mero Baze published an article in which he attacked and accused Lulzim Basha, during the time when the latter was mayor, of building a palace in the capital.

After attacking the builder, Mero Baze took an apartment for himself and an apartment and garage for his son Regon Baze.

According to data provided by CNA, it appears that in the apartment built by the company "LID", which Mero Baze attacked in 2015, today Mero Baze and his son Regon Baze carry out business activities.

The apartment on “Themistokli Gërmenji” street

In December 2023, on “Themistokli Gërmenji” Street, Mero Baze purchased an apartment of about 93 square meters. Apartment, which, from the data provided by CNA, it turns out that Mero Baze purchased for a total value of about 200 thousand euros. Meanwhile, the real value of such a property in that area is two to three times more than the value at which Mero Baze purchased it.

500 thousand euros from Veliaj

As we have previously reported, Mero Baze, as a tool of power and Erion Veliaj, has benefited from the latter by hundreds of thousands of euros.

According to CNA's investigation, Mero Baze was paid around 500 thousand euros by Erion Veliaj's brother and other companies linked to the mayor of Tirana.

These sums of money were given for a short period of time, according to data that CNA was able to obtain from the Tax Office. From this data it results that Arbër Veliaj pays Mero Bazen for advertisements of various companies, which are also beneficiaries of tenders in the Municipality of Tirana.

10-story building by the Ionian Sea

The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, in a public denunciation revealed that Mero Baze owns a property on the Ionian Sea worth millions of euros.

It is an unfinished 10-story building in the area of ??the former Workers' Camp in Saranda near the Santa Quaranta resort.

This is only a portion of Mero Baze's assets made public so far, while there are others that CNA is investigating.

Villa in Ndroq or villa in Peshtan which we can also call a resort. These and other investigations will come next for the stinking journalist.

But, Mero Baze, or as we call him Old Man Mere, through his strategies, attacks, and blackmail, has also enriched his children Regon Baze and Aldion Baze.

Apartment and garage at Brigada VII

In the "LID" building, which Mero Baze once attacked, supposedly in the name of his journalistic principles, it turns out that his son, Regon Baze, owns an apartment and a garage.

The apartment property in the name of Regon Baze, with an area of ??about 100 square meters, turns out to have been purchased with an initial value of about 100 thousand euros. While the garage, with an area of ??25 square meters, turns out to have a value of 15 thousand euros.

The scheme is clear, Mero Baze attacks the business, the builder and then buys an apartment in the son's name for 1000 euros per square meter. While in that area the value of a property is 2 to 3 times more.

The apartment owned by Mero Baze's son, along with the garage, is estimated at between 300 and 400 thousand euros.

In April 2020, after attacking the business, he bought the apartment and garage for "a piece of bread", which ended up being owned by his son Regon Baze.

OVER 10 THOUSAND SQUARE METERS OF LAND IN KSAMIL

According to data obtained by CNA, a 10,600 square meter plot of land in Ksamil has been registered in the name of Regon Baze and his companies. The data shows that this plot of land was purchased for a ridiculous amount of 2.8 million new lek, at 271 lek per square meter.

So, for only 28 million old lekë, a plot of land measuring over 10,000 square meters was purchased, registered in the name of Mero Baze's son, Regon Baze, where a hotel would later be built in Ksamil, in one of the most expensive areas.

This is a ridiculous price as it is not even a reference for the area, let alone the market price for the Ksamil area.

REGON BAZE BECAME PROPERTY DURING THE PANDEMIC

CNA uncovered the scandal. The properties purchased by Mero Baze for his son were made at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020.

At a time when the world was in collapse and Albania was closed by the pandemic, Mero Baze was buying property.

Then, in May of that same year, Mero Baze established the editorial office of the newspaper "Tema" on the purchased property, in the building built by the "LID" company, which he had once attacked.


ALDION BAZE

CNA discovered and identified the cucumber of Erion Veliaj and Mero Baze, who, thanks to the licks of his father, the "stinking journalist", has benefited from the former Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla, about 50 thousand pounds for studies, paid for by Albanian taxes, while the father took care of the repayment.

According to information also collected from the media, Aldion Baze, the son of Veliaj and Mero Baze, has been employed as Director in the Market Supervision Directorate at the Financial Supervision Agency since 2020.

In 2023, it turns out that this citizen was the controller of the Tirana Municipality Strategy for the year 2023-2027.
