Let's stand up for more holidays

With unparalleled patriotic enthusiasm and inspiration, the Assembly of Albania has decided to add another official holiday to the calendar.

March 2, the day when Gjergj Kastrioti and the Albanian princes gathered in Lezhë, under the auspices of the ambassador of Venice, to decide the destinies of the nation, will be an official holiday.

How much the princes needed a break after all those difficult decisions, we cannot know, but one thing is certain: today more than ever, the citizens of this country deserve another day off!

As can be seen from the endless list of official holidays, every month we have two to four days of guaranteed holidays to "free the soul" from the exhaustion at work.

Catholic Easter, Orthodox Easter, Eid al-Fitr, Kurban Eid, Summer Day, Nowruz, Saint Teresa's Day, and of course, Youth Day, International Workers' Day. Workers may wonder why Labor Day is a holiday, but that's another matter.

With the addition of March 2nd as a national holiday, now is the golden moment to do what we do best: give work... a break! The proposing deputy was more than clear: "We appreciate the most glorious period of our history and we must do this by... resting!

And in this abundance of holidays, if any of the official holidays collide with Saturday or Sunday, we have the ideal solution: compensatory leave. If you didn't get to rest on Christmas Day because it was Sunday, don't worry: Monday and Tuesday are there for you! As modern philosophy says: more days off, more happiness.

More vacations mean more time to reflect on glorious periods of history. Can a better commemoration for Gjergj Kastrioti be imagined than a whole day of doing nothing? He fought for freedom, while we celebrate that freedom....

But there is no need to limit ourselves to the days of rest: we can declare a holiday "The Day of the "Covenant of the Tree", "The Day of the "Unknown Hero We Don't Know, But We Honor", and why not, the Day of "Why not we rest this Thursday as well."

Friday can be declared the day of preparation for the weekend.

The days when we became friends and enemies with the Yugoslavs, the Russians, the Chinese... could be declared holidays, but the days of the Gregorian calendar are not enough!

Now that a lot of work will be done by Artificial Intelligence, there are three more working days per week. People worked a lot.

We must be vanguards in the region and beyond, resting until we are tired.
