Erion Veliaj and Mero Baze continue to refuse to release the document signed by Ols Dado and the refusal signed by the mayor regarding the claims and accusations that the prosecutor is investigating Veliaj for "revenge" after he did not approve the addition to the construction permit.

For 24 days now, we have been waiting for Veliaj and Mero Baze to publish the document signed by Ols Dado when he requested the permit extension and the refusal signed by the mayor, who claims that Ols Dado is "revengeful" and has a conflict of interest.

The request does not exist, nor does the refusal, just as the Tirana incinerator does not exist.

We are bringing for the 24th day the positions of Erion Veliaj and Mero Baze, pending the publication of the request.

Erion Veliaj's claim

In point 135, Veliaj says that prosecutor Ols Dado obtained a building permit from the Municipality of Tirana and then requested an addition to the permit and this was refused.

While in point 136 of the document without a seal and signature, Erion treats this as a matter of "revenge" on the part of prosecutor Ols Dado, because, according to him, he was not granted a construction permit for the addition after he made a request.

Mero Baze's claim

Mero Baze says that, according to him, the investigation against Veliaj is being insistently requested by a prosecutor, who months ago had a personal conflict with him, regarding his requests for a construction permit outside the legal criteria that the municipality had.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that the technical part of the European Union membership process is a channel that serves as a blessing for the building of institutions in Albania.

In his speech at the International Conference on Governance, Rama described it as a necessary journey and an institutional legacy for generations.

 "On the one hand, we have the EU process, which is beyond the political part, and on the other hand, we have the technical part. It is a blessing because it is the only channel where we can surpass the knowledge of how institutions are created, and Albania has to build institutions through these channels. In the end, it is a learning curve. New technology allows countries like us to take steps that were impossible for us. We aim to be the first country with AI in public procurement. The process for us is just as important, even more important than the final result. The journey is what we need, if we become a country that acts like an EU member state, this would be the greatest legacy we can give to our children, to grow up in a country where institutions function like in Italy or another Mediterranean country," Rama said./CNA

The Democratic Party Presidency meeting is taking place this Wednesday.

In his speech before the Presidency, the leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha, focused on the opposition's efforts so far to familiarize itself with the situation in the country with internationals.

Regarding the situation after the elections, which he called an authoritarian dictatorship, Berisha said that it is the leadership's fault that the entire situation regarding the DP's membership and supporters has not been clarified.

"The Democratic Party, as the largest opposition force, engaged in a serious international effort to present the grave situation and denounce Edi Rama's autocratic dictatorship in all international organizations.

I consider it a moment of capital importance.

I say this here, for the sake of greater recognition, it is not widely realized that Albania is living an autocratic dictatorship.  

This worries me, but more so our membership and supporters.  

It doesn't come from their dislike.

One of the factors is our poor work in clarifying the supporters and membership for the core authentic concepts.

The EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, held a meeting today with the chairwoman of the KLP, Mirela Bogdani.

The announcement made by the EU delegation states that the meeting discussed future work and key moments, including the appointment of the new head of SPAK.

It is further stated that the EU delegation will closely follow the process of selecting and appointing the new head of SPAK.

" A credible and independent justice system remains essential to strengthen citizens' trust and advance Albania's path towards the European Union."

EU Ambassador Gonzato met with Ms. Mirela Bogdani, President of the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP), to discuss the future work and key milestones ahead, including the selection and appointment of the new Head of SPAK. The EU Delegation will closely follow this process, while continuing to support the entire judicial system in strengthening its independence, accountability and efficiency at all levels.

The KLP has a crucial role in ensuring transparent and merit-based procedures for promotions, evaluations and professional standards within the prosecution system. We will continue to assist the KLP with our best expertise to help Albania meet EU standards ,” the announcement says./ CNA

The national team will play a friendly match against Jordan in October. The Football Federation has reached an agreement with its Jordanian counterparts for the match to be played on October 14, at the "Air Albania" stadium, at 19:00.

This will be the second match in history between the two representative teams. The first match took place on October 10, 2018 at the “Elbasan Arena” and ended in a goalless draw.

The date October 14 is free according to the FIFA calendar, as Albania is part of a group of five teams in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Also this month, the Rossoneri will take to the field for the qualifying match against Serbia in Belgrade.
