Albania will become the scene of one of the most important events in the governance of European football tomorrow, hosting for the first time the meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee.

From today until Friday, the Football Federation is pleased to host in Tirana the highest leaders of the continent's federations, members of the UEFA Executive Committee, chaired by President Aleksander Čeferin.

The head of European football's government will arrive this afternoon at Rinas Airport, where he will be received by the President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka.

According to the agenda, tomorrow at 09:00, a children's football festival will be held at the "House of Football" in Tirana, part of the UEFA "Football in Schools" program. The opening ceremony will be graced with the presence of UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and the President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka.

Meanwhile, the main points to be discussed at the Executive Committee meeting in Tirana are: assigning the host cities for the finals of the UEFA Champions League 2027, UEFA Women's Champions League 2027, UEFA Futsal Champions League 2026, UEFA Futsal Under-19 EURO 2027 and UEFA Women's Futsal EURO 2027.

Also on the agenda are three other issues: the prizes for the 2025 UEFA Women's Nations League finals, the approval of the regulations of the European Women's Futsal Championship and the regulations of the European qualifying phase for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

The Democratic Party will convene its leadership today, for the first time since the May 11 elections.

The meeting will start at 1:00 PM at the blue headquarters, where Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha will deliver his speech.

"At 1:00 PM, a meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party will be held, where the Chairman of the DP, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, will speak directly to the media, in the "Azem Hajdari" hall, the headquarters of the DP ," the Democratic Party announces.

Three people have been arrested after trading tomatoes with high levels of pesticides to Croatia.

Two NFA inspectors and the owner of a business have been arrested.

Berat/ The Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force, under the direction of the Berat Prosecutor's Office, is finalizing the "Again" operation.

The administrator of the entity was arrested for producing and exporting vegetables with high levels of the preparation "Chlorfenapyr" to the Croatian state, as well as using fictitious purchase invoices.

Two inspectors from the Berat National Employment Agency were also arrested, after they fictitiously completed their internship during the inspection they conducted at this entity.

Various vegetables suspected of being contaminated with quantities of the preparation are seized.

Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force and under the direction of the Berat Prosecutor's Office, after receiving information that a subject was collecting and exporting vegetables, for which there was illegality in the export, organized the work and finalized the "Again" operation.

During the operation, 3 citizens were arrested, specifically:

-MQ, 40 years old, resident of Kuçovë, administrator of the vegetable collection and export entity. This citizen had produced and then exported to the Croatian state, 8 tons of tomatoes which, after the analyses carried out, had resulted in a high content of the preparation "Chlorefenapyr", and were destroyed by the Croatian authorities. Also, in order to avoid legal liability, this citizen used fictitious purchase invoices from other farmers;

-RL, 27 years old, resident in Tirana and GL, 25 years old, resident in Berat, both inspectors of the Berat National Food Inspection Agency, after having carried out inspections in this subject and the practices held have resulted in being completed fictitiously, by not taking samples of the tomatoes that were in the warehouse and blocking them, and have received fictitious purchase invoices from citizen MQ as regular, thus distorting the facts regarding the products found to have high levels of the preparation.

During the search of the warehouse of citizen MQ, various vegetables were seized and samples were taken for analysis, as it is suspected that they may contain a high content of preparations.

The procedural materials were referred to the Berat Prosecutor's Office for further action.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that an operation was conducted in response to multiple violations of Polish airspace, while Russian forces attacked parts of Ukraine bordering Poland on Wednesday morning.

This comes after the Polish armed forces reported that they had shot down many drone-type objects that were constantly violating the country's skies.

"Weapons have been deployed and operations are underway to recover the fallen objects," authorities said.

Local police confirmed that debris believed to be from a damaged drone was found in the village of Czosnowka in eastern Poland, near Poland's border with Belarus.

The operation marks the first time Poland, a NATO member, has directly engaged Russian assets since the start of the full-scale invasion of Moscow in February 2022./CNA
