Dublin, London, Amsterdam and Paris are among the most expensive and complicated European capitals to buy public transport tickets, according to a new ranking by environmental group Greenpeace.

The ranking was topped by the city of Luxembourg, the Maltese capital of Valletta and the Estonian capital of Tallinn, who scored the highest possible score thanks to their offer of free public transport.

Despite the poor position of the Irish capital, the island nation fared better overall, coming in 13th.
