Shkodra resident denounces theft in Rinas/Turhani: Jewelry worth 2,500 euros

Dritan Turhani chose to report the incident to the local police in Shkodra and to report it to the media the day before. His son's daughter-in-law, while traveling to Rinas, had some more jewelry in her suitcase, worth about 2.5 million old lek, which were seized during the luggage checks.

" I want to report a theft case yesterday in Rinas. The son's bride left Hamburg at 5 am and arrived in Rinas at 7:20 am. A phenomenon occurred in which her gold items were stolen in Rinas. We reported the case to the Shkodra police today and the police informed the staff in Rinas. We do not know how to act in this case. They should look into the cases and provide a solution. I do not believe that this is the first case of such a thing happening, this is a loss of image for Albania. Their value was 2500 euros, there were 2 pendants, 2 rings and a bracelet. There was a box with gold items in the suitcase and the box is open with the quality that was there, " said Turhani.

 

Turhan appeals to institutions to open the cameras at the airport and uncover the theft, as losses in luggage during checks are not uncommon, thus creating an ugly picture for tourists.

 

" The message is to open the cameras and find out who took them. The concessionaire that owns the airport must be held accountable for such losses and this can be found through the cameras ," said Turhan.

 

Damage to suitcases or even thefts during checks have been part of the denunciations time and again on various social networks. But Dritan Turhani has chosen to deal with the legal route, leaving the situation in the hands of the institutions./ CNA
