They were selling narcotics in different neighborhoods of Gjirokastra/ 10 people

10 people have been arrested in the city of Gjirokastra, as part of Operation "Andromeda".

The arrested are aged between 18-35 and were caught selling cocaine and cannabis in various neighborhoods of the city of Gjirokastra.

In this operation, 1 kilogram and 82 grams of Cocaine, a quantity of Cannabis, divided into doses, ready for sale, 1 shotgun, 1 sports pistol, 1 cold weapon (knife), 1 metal detector, a quantity of ammunition, 2 pairs of vehicle license plates, 3970 packs of cigarettes (without fiscal stamps), 4850 euros and 17 cell phones were seized.

The prosecution has launched investigations into three other people.

 

Police Announcement:

After several months of investigations using special investigative methods, the fourth phase of the police anti-drug operation codenamed "Andromeda" is being finalized.

They were selling cocaine and cannabis in different neighborhoods of the city of Gjirokastra, 10 citizens were arrested, and 3 other citizens were criminally prosecuted.

Seized were 1 kilogram and 82 grams of Cocaine, a quantity of Cannabis, divided into doses, ready for sale, 1 shotgun, 1 sports pistol, 1 cold weapon (knife), 1 metal detector, a quantity of ammunition, 2 pairs of vehicle license plates, 3970 packs of cigarettes (without fiscal stamps), 4850 euros and 17 cell phones.

As a result of an investigation with special investigation methods, conducted for several months, under the direction of the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, following information obtained through operational channels, regarding the involvement of several citizens in the criminal activity of selling narcotics in doses, the Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Sector, the "Eagle" Special Force, and with the services of the subordinate Commissariats of the Gjirokastra Police Department, finalized the fourth phase of the police operation codenamed "Andromeda".

During the operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: M. Ll., 18 years old, KR, 23 years old, MR, 20 years old, DA, 30 years old, AP, 52 years old, AM, 21 years old, AC, 35 years old.

As well as MN, 30 years old (captured on 26.11.2025), both residents of Gjirokastër.

Also, the order of the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for the detention of citizens DR, 55 years old, resident of Gjirokastra, and Xh. G., 22 years old, resident of Tepelena, was executed.

Investigations revealed that these citizens were selling narcotics, Cocaine and Cannabis, in Gjirokastra.

During the search of the homes of citizens: AC, 1 hunting gun, 1 sports pistol, 1 cold weapon (knife) and several hunting cartridges were found, which he possessed without a permit; AP, the narcotic substance Cannabis was found, as well as 3970 packs of cigarettes, suspected of being smuggled, as they were not equipped with a fiscal stamp; DA, 1 kilogram and 05 grams of the narcotic substance suspected of being Cocaine were found.
Meanwhile, during the searches of the homes of the other arrested, doses of Cocaine and Cannabis, 2 pairs of license plates, 1 metal detector, as well as 4850 euros, suspected of having been obtained from the sale of the doses, were found.

Following the procedural actions within the framework of this operation, proceedings were initiated in the free state for the following citizens:

KM, 44 years old, resident of Gjirokastra, after a physical check found a small amount of narcotic substance, Cocaine;

E. Sh., 50 years old, resident of Gjirokastra, because he knew that citizen KM had narcotics and had not reported it;

AB, 58 years old, resident of Lazarat, after several hunting cartridges were found during a search of his apartment./ CNA
