Anti-drug operation in Belgium/ 15 arrested, including 10 Albanians

Belgian authorities have cracked down on an Albanian criminal organization. According to information from the police regarding this operation, 18 checks were carried out, of which 15 were carried out, resulting in 15 arrests, including 10 Albanian citizens.

Police teams searched buildings in several areas, including Kortrijk, Menen, Harelbeke, Waregem, Wervik, Mouscron, Asse, Machelen, Antwerp, Ronse, Ledeberg, Verviers, Engis and Brussels. More than 120 police officers and three teams of sniffer dogs participated in this operation to reinforce the operation.

In total, more than 3,200 marijuana plants were found during the operation. Forensic experts analyzed all traces, which included 4.8 kilograms of marijuana, three cars, prohibited weapons and cash. Bank accounts and cryptocurrency were frozen.

Among the 15 arrested were ten Albanians, three Belgians, one Congolese and one Romanian./CNA
