A 62-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana for arson. Citizen MI has been arrested for the criminal offense of "Destruction of forests and the forest environment by fire."

According to the police, the 62-year-old started a fire in a forest area in the village of Bulcesh near the Bovilla Lake Dam, which is located within the borders of the Dajti National Park, which is part of the Natural Protected Areas.

A 62-year-old man was arrested after starting a fire in the Dajti National Park, endangering the park's forest massif.

After receiving a report that a fire had broken out in the village of Bulcesh near the Bovilla Lake Dam, the relevant services immediately went to the scene.

As a result of investigative and operational actions, carried out immediately after the incident, specialists from Police Commissariat No. 4 made it possible to identify, capture and arrest the suspected perpetrator, citizen MI, 62 years old.

Preliminary investigations show that this citizen is suspected of having started a fire in a forest area, in the village of Bulcesh near the Bovilla Lake Dam, which is located within the borders of the Dajti National Park, which is part of the Natural Protected Areas.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of forests and forest environment by fire".

The Tirana Local Police Directorate appeals to all citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, either intentionally or through negligence, as they will face the law.
