A food warehouse was discovered in Vora, where expired product labels were forged and re-released on the market.

As a result, two people, the warehouse administrator and the warehouse keeper, were arrested, and the partner and the driver were criminally prosecuted.

Large quantities of expired food with forged labels were also seized.

The police operation codenamed "Food Safety" is being finalized, conducted by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Sector at the DPSSh, in cooperation with Police Commissariat No. 7.

A warehouse was discovered in Vora where expired food product labels were forged, which were then put back on the market.

Large quantities of expired processed food products with forged expiration labels are seized in January and February.

The warehouse administrator and warehouseman were arrested in flagrante delicto. The warehouse partner and driver were criminally prosecuted.

As part of the plan of measures for controls in warehouses, shops and supermarkets, with the aim of preventing the trading of expired food products, the "Food Safety" operation was finalized.

As a result of the operation, citizens FD, 38 years old, administrator of the entity, and AD, 58 years old, warehouseman, were arrested in flagrante delicto.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens ST, 56 years old, the subject's partner, and AD, 36 years old, the warehouse driver.

The investigation revealed that the entity, which was involved in import-export and trade of industrial and food products, was collecting expired products from various markets in Tirana, Durrës and Elbasan, falsifying their expiration dates and re-releasing them on the market, without tax documentation.

During the operation, 716 packages and 100 kilograms of processed food products with an expiration date of January and February 2025 were seized as material evidence, and the expiration date had been falsified with the aim of re-entering the market for sale.

The procedural materials were passed to the Tirana General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office for further action on the criminal offenses of "Violation of industrial property rights", "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", "Hiding income", "Non-payment of taxes and duties", "Illegal employment" and "Import, production, sale, storage of food dangerous to human health or life".
