The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, reacted to the attack in Kosovo.
Borrell condemns in the strongest possible terms the ugly attack by an armed gang against Kosovo policemen in Banjska/Banjska in northern Kosovo, which left one policeman dead and two injured.
He calls for the attacks to stop.
"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the ugly attack by an armed gang against Kosovo policemen in Banjska/Banjska in the north of Kosovo, which left one policeman dead and two injured. All facts surrounding the attack must be proven. The perpetrators responsible must face justice.
More innocent lives are at risk in the ongoing hostilities around Banjska Monastery. These attacks must be stopped immediately.
EULEX, as the second security responder, is on the ground and in close contact with the authorities and KFOR.
The EU and its member states constantly call on all actors to work to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo."/ CNA
