"The Artemis II journey was spectacular"/ Trump: Next step, the planet

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has reacted after the successful return of the Artemis II crew to Earth.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that the entire 10-day trip around the moon was spectacular and that their landing on Earth was perfect.

The president says that a trip of this type will happen again and that the next destination will be the planet Mars.

"Congratulations to the brilliant and very talented crew of Artemis II. The entire trip was spectacular, the landing was perfect, and, as President of the United States, I could not be more proud! I look forward to seeing you all at the White House soon. We will do it again and then, the next step, Mars!" Trump wrote.

On April 6, the spacecraft reached its maximum distance from Earth - 406,771 km (252,756 miles) - during the lunar flyby, breaking the previous record for the farthest journey humans have ever traveled in space. /CNA
