The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, told DASH's senior adviser, Derek Chollet, that for his country any form of formal or informal recognition of Kosovo's independence and its membership in the United Nations represent "red lines" .

On January 12, the senior adviser of the US State Department, Derek Chollet, met in Belgrade with Vucic and the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Bërnabiq.

Vu?i? told reporters that he discussed the Franco-German plan for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which is mediated by the European Union, with the American diplomat.

"Ne kemi treguar se cilat janë ‘vijat tona të kuqe’. Çdo formë e njohjes formale ose joformale e pavarësisë apo lejimi i anëtarësimit në OKB, ne nuk duam dhe nuk mund ta diskutojmë dhe kjo është pjesë integrale e atij plani”, tha Vuçiq.

Ai shtoi se pjesa tjetër e planit franko-gjerman, që tani po njihet si plani i BE-së, mund të diskutohet.

Ky propozim synon normalizimin e raporteve midis Kosovës dhe Serbisë dhe ka mbështetjen edhe të SHBA-së.

Vuçiq shprehu mirënjohje ndaj administratës amerikane që po insiston në formimin e Asociacionit të komunave me shumicë serbe.

Kosova dhe Serbia kanë nënshkruar dy marrëveshje për Asociacionin, por kryeministri i Kosovës, Albin Kurti, është shprehur kundër një asociacioni njëetnik. Kurti ka argumentuar se institucionet monoetnike bien ndesh me frymën e Kushtetutës së Kosovës.

Vucic said "it is impossible to achieve progress if someone constantly refers to their own legal acts".

"When you insist that something must be in accordance with, as they say, the Constitution of Kosovo, then why did we negotiate, what did we negotiate for?", asked the Serbian president.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo in 2015 found that the principles for the formation of the Association are not fully harmonized with the spirit of the Constitution, but said that they can be harmonized./ REL
