The new subvariant of Omicron 'XBB 1.5"/ 6 people are infected in Greece

 
6 new cases have been registered in Greece of the Omicron sub-variant, XBB 1.5, known as "Kraken".

Four cases were detected especially in the northern area and two in the western area of ??Attica.

The subvariant began to spread rapidly in the United States. 
 
Last week there were 27.6% of cases of COVID-19 in the US, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 
 
This type is particularly prevalent in the northeastern regions, where it accounts for more than 70% of infection cases. It is noted that in December 2022 the new type XBB.1.5 was responsible for only 1% of the cases of COVID-19 in the US.

As for Europe, the subvariant has been identified in at least 15 countries./ CNA.al
