US-Ukraine talks begin/What is being discussed at the official meeting

Talks between the American and Ukrainian delegations have begun in Saudi Arabia. According to foreign media sources, the talks are going well.

"The talks are going well, many issues have been discussed," said a senior Ukrainian official, who requested anonymity.

These are the first high-level talks between Kiev and Washington since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President Donald Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office last month.

High-level talks between Ukrainian and American officials in Saudi Arabia focus on ending Russia's war against Ukraine, with Kiev seeking the protection of its interests and a clear vision for peace.

The discussions come between the US and Ukraine, especially after a controversial meeting at the White House and the suspension of US military aid and intelligence sharing.

Key issues on the table include possible territorial concessions by Ukraine, ceasefire proposals and the role of European allies in providing security guarantees and shaping the peace process. /CNA
