After a long period of tension and international mediation, Albin Kurti has begun to implement the demands of the members and his commitments.

It is learned that the government of Kosovo has started the procedures for the removal of the presidents elected in the north of Kosovo and the announcement of new elections.

The Ministry of Local Government Administration, as the competent and responsible department in Kosovo regarding local government and a factor in the organization of elections there, has started preparing procedures for the dismissal of the current mayors of municipalities in the north of Kosovo.

This ministry has already appointed the working group for the drafting of the Administrative Instruction regarding the appointment of the procedures for the citizens' initiative for the removal of the mayors.

According to the decision signed by the minister, Elbert Krasniqi, this group must finalize the draft administrative instruction by September 1, 2023.

The decision states that this working group will be supported by the EU, representatives from embassies and the OSCE./CNA.al
