A man identified as French climber Remi Lucidi has been found dead in Hong Kong and is believed to have fallen from a high-rise building, The Guardian reports.

The body of the 30-year-old, believed to be involved in extreme sports, was found in the yard of an apartment block in the Mid-Levels area. 

No suicide note was found at the scene.

The man entered the apartment block telling security he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor, but instead took the lift to the 49th floor.

Police later received a call about a possible gas leak, but when they arrived they found the 30-year-old's body outside the building.

At the time of his fall, he had broken a gas pipe.

Officers found him a French identification card, as well as a sports camera with older footage of some extreme sports./ CNA.al
