The outstanding writer, Ismail Kadare, has been granted the citizenship of Kosovo. The news was announced by the Presidency of Kosovo in an announcement on social networks, where it is underlined that the decision was signed by Vjosa Osmani.

Regarding the decision, President Osmani says that granting citizenship to the icon of Albanian literature, the writer Ismail Kadare, is an honor for the state of Kosovo for the creator, who is constantly an important point of reference for Albanians everywhere in the world.

"The Republic of Kosovo and its citizens feel honored by the outstanding personality of the nation, our world-class writer, Ismail Kadare, who with his creativity has affirmed our language, culture and tradition", President Osmani emphasized.

The presidency clarifies that the citizenship decree will be handed over to the writer Kadare by President Osmani during the visit, which will take place in Albania in the near future.
