The head of the Pentagon calls on Turkey not to undertake a new military operation in Syria

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday expressed his "strong opposition" to a new Turkish military operation in Syria to his Turkish counterpart and expressed concern about the escalating situation there, the Pentagon said.
