Holidaymakers heading to London Gatwick Airport are advised to prepare for a stressful journey as this airport has been ranked as the most stressful airport on the European continent.

According to the ranking of the most stressful airports in the world by VisaGuide.World, London Gatwick Airport has the highest scores of all 30 airports, standing out for the highest annual percentage of delays (41.1 percent), reports Schengen.news.info .

With a total of 1,642 respondents from 53 nationalities, this ranking reveals that apart from London Gatwick Airport, Istanbul Airport has one of the highest percentages of annual delays in 2023 – 31.5 per cent compared to 41.1 per cent.

Ranked as the fifth most stressful airport in the world, Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom receives around 61.6 million passengers each year. The percentage of delayed flights is 40.5 percent while the passenger density in the 12 million square meter center is 5.08.

In terms of passenger comfort, Heathrow is moderately convenient given that the distance between the airport and the city center is 28 kilometers or a 20-minute journey.

Antalya Airport in Turkey is the 21st most stressful airport internationally, with 24.2 percent of flights over a year either delayed or canceled.
