Iran attacks seven countries in the Middle East with missiles and drones

Iran has carried out a series of missile and drone attacks on military and civilian targets in seven Middle Eastern countries, including the US, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and northern Iraq.

According to Iranian state media and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the strikes targeted US air and military bases in al-Udeid (Qatar), al-Salem (Kuwait), al-Dhafra (United Arab Emirates), a naval base in Bahrain, the Muwaffaq al-Salti base in Jordan, as well as a base in northern Iraq.

In parallel, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles towards Israel, with Israeli authorities reporting at least 40 missiles and some minor injuries. Air defenses intercepted most of the missiles, but debris from one killed an Asian national in Abu Dhabi and injured four people in the Palm Jumeirah resort area in Dubai.

In Bahrain, a missile hit a US naval base, while an Iranian drone later attacked another military base. Qatar and Saudi Arabia were cited as having intercepted most of the missiles, while in Kuwait a drone hit the international airport, injuring several people.

The incident comes after joint US and Israeli strikes against Iranian targets and raises concerns about further escalation of the conflict in the region./ CNA
