Foreign media: Iranian army commander Amir Hatami assassinated

Israeli and some international media outlets report that Amir Hatami, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army, has been killed during today's attacks by US and Israeli forces.

So far this has not been officially confirmed by the Iranian government or independent military sources.

Amir Hatami was a senior Iranian officer, appointed as Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army in 2025.

The United States and Israel launched a coordinated military operation against Iran today, striking the capital Tehran and other cities.

The attack has been presented as a "preemptive" intervention or escalated direct war against Iranian military facilities and their missile and nuclear capabilities. /CNA
