Anniversary of the Tempi tragedy/ Thousands of citizens protest in Thessaloniki

Thousands of citizens gathered today in the city center of Thessaloniki in Greece, for the third anniversary of the serious railway tragedy in Tempi, where 57 people lost their lives on February 28, 2023.

The rally is attended by people of all ages, from young to old, as well as students, labor unions, civic organizations and activist groups, as reported by state media 'ERT'.

The Tempi Victims' Relatives' Union and other organizations have called for mass participation in protests and marches across the country, demanding justice for the deceased and improved rail safety.

In addition to Thessaloniki, similar rallies have been reported in other Greek cities, including Veria and Edessa, where citizens are gathering to honor the victims and call for change./ CNA
