Attack on the dam of the Kherson region/ Residents are evacuated, state of emergency in Nova Kakhovka

After the attack on the dam in the Kherson region in Ukraine, the evacuations of residents living in this area have begun, as it is being flooded by its explosion.

According to "BBC", the Ukrainian army has accused Russian forces of blowing up the dam in the town of Nova Kakhovka, although Moscow denies this.

At least eight different settlements in the Kherson region have already been flooded, a local military official said.

A state of emergency has been declared in the Nova Kakhovka district, according to Russian state media.

EU Council President Charles Michel blamed Russia for the attack, saying the destruction of civilian infrastructure was a "war crime".

A local official from Russia said that only the upper part of the power plant was destroyed by shelling, but not the dam itself./ CNA.al
