Germany/ The candidate of the extreme right party is injured

A serious event has occurred in Germany, where the candidate of the far-right party AfD for the Mannheim city council was attacked with a knife yesterday evening, reports sky tg24.

According to the German police, the author of the serious incident was arrested after injuring the candidate of the far-right party. 

The candidate, who was campaigning in Sunday's local elections in Baden-Wuerttemberg state, where Mannheim is located, was not identified.

"We are shocked and shocked," said local AfD leader Markus Frohnmaier.

This is the second attack in a few days in the same city.

Last Friday, during a demonstration by a far-right anti-Islam movement, a 25-year-old Afghan man wounded six people, killing a policeman. /CNA
