The balance of victims/ Over 13 thousand people killed in Gaza

The war between Hamas and Israel continues in Gaza, while the number of victims increases day by day.

The November 7 attack by Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis and took more than 200 hostages.

Meanwhile, the number of casualties from the Israeli counterattack is higher. The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza says 13,000 people have been killed.

Another 2,700 have been reported missing and are believed to have been trapped under the rubble. 

So far, Hamas has released four hostages, Israel has rescued one, and the bodies of two hostages have been found near the Shifa hospital, an area where there has been heavy fighting.

Israel, the US and Qatar, which mediates with Hamas, have been negotiating for weeks for the release of the hostages.

A White House official suggested on Saturday that the release of the hostages must be completed before humanitarian aid can enter the Israeli-besieged Gaza for the 2.3 million Palestinians who live in the territory./ CNA
